Hey there, WordPress enthusiasts! Buckle up for a rollercoaster of emotions at WordCamp Kathmandu Contributors Day. Because I’ve got a tale to tell from my recent adventure at WordCamp Kathmandu 2023.
WordCamp Kathmandu is an annual event! This event brings together WordPress enthusiasts, professionals, developers, designers, bloggers, and anyone interested in the world of WordPress. This event is organized by the local WordPress community in Kathmandu, Nepal.
It’s a testament to the collaborative and community-driven nature of WordPress. The event is a fantastic platform for learning about all things WordPress. Attendees can expect a variety of sessions and workshops covering topics like website development, content creation, plugin and theme development, SEO, and more.
While there’s a lot to learn and discuss, WordCamp events usually maintain a friendly and informal atmosphere. It’s a place where you can exchange ideas, ask questions, and have some fun.

Because, I did this time, and I went from nervous newbies to WordPress Contributors Day Marketing table lead.
With years of content writing experience, attending this event was a must. Little did I know that I would be leading the Marketing table along with my colleague, Aayusha.
Nervous Beginnings at WordCamp Kathmandu Contributors Day
The excitement mixed with a dash of anxiety as we embarked on this new journey. Leading a table at WordCamp was uncharted territory for both of us.
We had initially planned to attend as speakers, ready to share our WordPress journey. However, destiny had other plans, and we found ourselves as Marketing table leads.
The Marketing Table Lead Experience
Being table leads turned out to be a fantastic experience.
We had the chance to interact with numerous attendees, eager to learn about marketing strategies during the contributors’ day. To their surprise, our table was all about making them contribute to the WordPress marketing team.
Our mission was clear, encourage each attendee to contribute to the WordPress marketing team through official channels like GitHub and Slack. At first, some were puzzled, but we were fortunate to receive support from colleagues, seniors, and our mentors. Their assistance was invaluable during our initial challenges.
We can’t express enough gratitude to those who helped us through the day. As first-time table leads, we were initially stressed about how to navigate the event smoothly. Our relief was palpable when we realized we didn’t have to give speeches from the stage.
We even joked about our last-minute speech preparations.
Our day before the event was filled with anxiety and uncertainty, but turned into a remarkable success. We managed to engage attendees and guide them toward contributing to the WordPress community. It was a learning experience that we will cherish.
WordCamp Kathmandu 2023 might have started nervously for us, but it ended with smiles and a sense of accomplishment. We left with new friends, valuable experiences, and a deeper connection to the WordPress world.
My Gratitude
Now, let’s fast forward to the juicy part. We were absolutely thrilled when, during the Word Camp Kathmandu Contributors Day, they gave us this incredible token of appreciation. A painting of our own!
Can you believe it? I was on cloud nine, feeling like WordPress rockstars. And the painting, let me tell you, is a masterpiece. It might just find its way into the Louvre someday (okay, maybe not, but we can dream).
But hold on, my gratitude train doesn’t stop there. I have a shoutout to my incredible colleague, Aayusha. She’s the real MVP!
Not only did she help me navigate this wild ride, but she did it while being a bit under the weather. Talk about professionalism and holding it together. I was half-expecting her to turn into a WordPress superhero any moment. Perhaps “WordPress Woman”? 😉
So, here’s to unexpected surprises, amazing colleagues, and a WordCamp Kathmandu Contributors Day to remember. It turns out that life in the WordPress universe is never short of thrilling twists and delightful turns.
